Daily worship
Rudrabhishek, aarti and the calendar of the sacred year at Sri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir — so the lake remains a living place of prayer, not only a festival site.
What the association provides for devotees — and how donations, sponsorship and volunteering keep the mandir, the pilgrimage and the diaspora network alive.
Like most temple sabhas in Mauritius, Hindu Maha Sabha exists to keep worship, festivals and community care running at Ganga Talao — for those who live on the island and for those who return from abroad.
Rudrabhishek, aarti and the calendar of the sacred year at Sri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir — so the lake remains a living place of prayer, not only a festival site.
Booked rites for sankalpa — pujas, Aagrah-Shanti and Vivah at the mandir, at home, or commissioned online for the diaspora.
Organisation of the national pilgrimage: continuous abhishek, space for kanwar yatris, water, lighting, cleaning and coordination with authorities.
Care of lakeside temples, shore shrines and access paths — maintenance that keeps Kashi Vishwanath Mandir and the crater shore open to all.
Halls, shelters and basic amenities for those who walk or stay during festivals — the practical side of hospitality (annadanam / seva when organised).
The Hindu calendar of observances (Ekadashi, Shivratri, Shravan and more) and priestly guidance on which rite fits a family’s intention.
Preservation of the story of Ganga Talao, language and culture programmes, and materials such as the sabha magazine when published.
Overseas chapters, pujas performed on behalf of devotees abroad, priest exchange, and Ganga jal carried when requested for affiliate mandirs.
Associations like ours typically ask the community for four kinds of help — money, sponsored rites, gifts in kind, and time.
Bank transfer or mobile QR toward temple upkeep, electricity, priest dakshina funds, cleaning and day-to-day running of the precinct. Use a clear reference with your name so the treasurer can acknowledge you.
Offer a named puja, homa or abhishek; fund annadanam (food for pilgrims); or contribute to Maha Shivratri lights, tents, water and Prasad. Many families sponsor a day of worship in memory of a relative.
Flowers, oil, ghee, cloth, utensils, sound or light for festivals, and building materials for halls or shelters — coordinated with the committee so nothing is wasted.
Crowd guidance and cleaning during Maha Shivratri; help at the mandir desk; skills such as accounts, design, IT or teaching Hindi / heritage for youth. Write to us if you can offer regular or festival-time seva.
Bank account details and a QR code for mobile payment will be published here once confirmed by the treasurer.
